Brigadier General Begaj was born in Rrogozhinë on 03.20.1967 married with two children. Previously BG Begaj served as Director of the Health Division in the Albanian Armed Forces’ General Staff. He also served as General Director of the Central Military Hospital in Tirana and has earned several medals for his achievements throughout his military career. BG Begaj was commissioned into the Military Medicine Branch upon graduation from University of Tirana in 1989. In addition to the posts noted above, he held other assignments within the Military Medicine and Health Management in the Albanian Armed Forces. Brigadier General Begaj holds a Medical Degree from the University of Tirana and has completed his gastroenterology residency. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Medicine and later on became Associate Professor. He has undertaken different fellowships and courses in Gastroenterology, Health Management and Strategic Medicine Leadership offered by the United States Army. BG Begaj is also a graduate of the Senior Course on Defense and Security Studies from the Albanian Armed Forces Academy in Tirana. Brigadier General Bajram Begaj assumed duties as Commander, Albanian Army Training and Doctrine Command in December 2017 after serving as Chief of the Military Medical Unit.
